RAM Testing With MemTest

RAM (Random Access Memory) is the Primary Memory of the Computer. It is because of this memory that computer is actually able to work. In Modern Computer they are in a form of PCB Sticks. RAM is also volatile Memory i.e. it gets erased as soon as power of PC is lost. So Nothing is permanent here.
You will get More Information About RAM on Wikipedia.

If Your RAM is faulty there are numerous problems that might occur to your computer.
As its the Primary Memory your computer won't even boot up. And even if it boots up it might freeze in middle or something.
So, If you think there is a problem with the RAM, first of all it is advised to Remove the RAM (memory Sticks) then clean the RAM Slot with Pressurized Air and clean the terminals of RAM with Rubber. Then reinsert the RAM and run your computer.

For Testing my RAM's I use MemTest - an Opensource Memory Testing Software. This Software is pretty Good. You can download it from here.
From the link given above You will get a zipped ISO file which you will need to burn using software like Alcohol, UltraISO, Daemon Tool or you can Try Freewares Software that are available on Internet.
Once You created a Bootable CD. Just Boot your Computer with the CD and it will Test All your RAMs.
It is advised to Test One Memory Stick at a time because it will help you determine which Memory Stick is actually faulty in case you have multiple number of Memory Sticks Installed on your computer.
